A Flashback in our Biology Class

Biology Class of Mrs. Rubio was fun, it was full of lessons about what we can do as ordinary students in applying simple ways that can contribute big to our own locality, and thanks for that lesson for giving us something that we can write in this blog (sighs) in order for the one who is now reading this to gain some information, fruitful experiences and effective ways.

We, the so-called II-Science Class A tackled about the Philippine Biodiversity, and it was a good topic to learned about. We have a good ride in our own imagination imagining on the richness of the Philippine Biodiversity, it was amazing, and an awesome experience.

Philippine Biodiversity has a large degree of variation of life forms within a given ecosystem and has a high endemism. Philippines is a great place where you can find the "beauty" of god's creation.

But Philippine biodiversity, on the other side is also classified as "biodiversity hotspot" because of its alarming threats from humans. It is a "mega biodiversity country". Mega Biodiversity Country is a country that harbor the majority of the Earth's species and are therefore considered extremely biodiverse.

It is all caused by :

-Human activities or because of us

 Greediness of man

-Overpopulation

Modernization
-Also:
-Lack of Discipline
-Lack of Political Will
-Lack of Understanding
-Lack of Funds

THIS IS ALARMING!

And we can help to PROTECT OUR BIODIVERSITY: How? These are the ways :

1. Report illegal logging activities and illegal sale of wildlife.
2.Write letters to our government officials to help pass and implement laws to protect our biodiversity.
3. Don't buy endangered animal products ( e.g. alligator shoes, snake-skin bags, stuffed Pawikan, coral jewelry)
4. Form a group n your community or barangay advocating the protection of our wildlife and plantlife.

    WE CAN ALL CONTRIBUTE!
