SMNHS GOT TALENT ROCKS!

The sun did not shine in the day of October 13, 2011, the whole day was cool, raining and the breeze of air is gently whispering. But this day, was not just like every other day because an event was going to happen, and this is SMNHS GOT TALENT. The most awaited part of the day that students are awaiting for, not just because of FREE TIME but to cheer for II-A's presentation.
It was a cool and awesome day to show the talents of SMNHSians on the competition of the uniqueness, the goodness, and the special abilities of we, students. It started at 8:00 am in the Sophomore Province, with the participation of the Freshman and Sophomore students with the energetic presence of the SSG members that done all their efforts to make the presentation with an extraordinary twists. The energetic crowd and the amazing judges also made their contribution to the said event.
In this event, we the Group 1 and other students  never stop in helping Mother Nature. The crowd's trash that is there in the event but not showing their talents become famous of their participation. We tried not to increase the trash and throw it on their proper trash can. SSG officers also do their part in maintaining Sophomore Province cleanliness.
To summarize this lengthy post, THE GROUP 1 DONE THE BEST THING WE CAN DO! We've done our best!
Go Sophomore! SMNHS GOT TALENT ROCKS!

A Sudden Burning Spirit

Today is not just like every other day, it is a day to be happy because this is a good time to have a sit and take a break and write to a simple notebook with full of extraordinary experiences of a STEWARD OF NATURE.

The breeze of air was something that cold, it hugs and touches my individual body solemnly, solemnly giving me a different energy that suddenly comes in my whole perspiring body, my heart beats as the wind blows its message, and as it goes by, there is my soul that whispers suddenly with a burning spirit that has a message to act and find solution to our DEAREST MOTHER NATURE in all of the things that we can.\

IT IS THE TIME TO WAKE UP!!!

This whole week I unplug all of our appliances that are not in use and if no one needs it.
I also read some books that can enlightened my imagination and my mind in the morning and in the afternoon instead at night.
I turn off my computer and unplug it after using. I also minimize the use of it in order to save and conserve electricity.

I've also walked from our house to the nearest store to buy some food and a soup to have a hot feeling this cloudy and cold week.

I hope that every week will be this kind of week with the role of responsibility and being a human that is aware on what is happening to our Mother Nature.

"Dear Diary"

LCD Journal is a journal that is assigned to us to write  what our hearts want to say, what our mind can predict and what our ways we've done in the appropriate week . This also helps us to be a good steward of Nature and to be an Eco-friendly youth.

A simple notebook with full of extraordinary experiences of a simple student experiencing to help in our nature with simple ways.

AN EXAMPLE OF A CONVERSATION WITH THE LCD JOURNAL THAT CONTAINS WAYS AND ACTIONS THAT I'VE DONE IN A WEEK:

It's a good day to start a conversation with you, it's been a week since I wrote to you and I am so happy today that I've helped our Mother Nature . It was a cloudy week, a week that is also full of homeworks and lessons that must be done but even if this is the condition my role as a steward of nature will never stop.

I threw my wastes in the trash can.
I turn off the lights that are not in use.
I also done my assignments in the afternoon in order to not consume electricity at night.
I've read some books in the morning or afternoon instead in the evening.

I also unplug my charger after my cellphone's battery is full.

That's all Mother Nature! Hope I've helped again! See you again as I wrote to you my extraordinary experiences.

A Best Week

This week is more than perfect...... I can say that if you will look at me, happiness range at my face, my heart feels like heaven and I can say that it is the best week EVER!

And all of it is because I felt that this is another week of so much perseverance of actions and solutions that I can make with my bare hands and open mind  with a soul that whispers at me in every step I make, in every choices I will select, and in every move that can make a difference.

I, this week clean our environment to have a clean fresh air to breathe and a healthy environment.

I clean my room in the best way I can.
I walk together with my classmates instead of using vehicles.

I also use the electricity wisely.
I also minimize the use of my plastic and use paper bags if necessary.

I also practice the 3R's and I am planning to apply it in my daily living.
I will always spread the words that I've done in order for others to apply it in their daily lives.

That's all! Remember that every week will gonna be a best week in every one of us if we, as a steward of Nature all play our own roles , our own responsibilities, and our own perfect ways to help and not to destroy because OUR NATURE IS NOW CRYING FOR HELP!

              SPREAD THE WORD.....

Never Say We Can't

It's been a cloudy week , a week that is also full of homeworks and lessons that must be done in time, but even if this is the condition we will Never Say We Can't. As a youth I must not be tired of these.

This week will be another week of being a steward of Nature even if this is the condition, our role will never stop.

This week, we turned off the lights that are not in use. We finished doing our assignments in the afternoon to conserve electricity. We watered the plants. We charged our cellphones and unplug it when the battery is full . We also finished some assignments that can be find in books than to search on the internet. and whenever we are told to go to a store we will just walk. We minimize the usage of plastic bags if necessary.

WE CAN all do it! That's all Mother Nature, hope we've helped again!

A Pledge That Can Make A Change

As Lillian Dickson says, "Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only spend it once". Life is like a big challenge of everyone one of us that is fighting, breathing, and experiencing this journey that we are now going through. But as the time goes by, how do this life can stay long if our nature is now crying for a help? Do we need to change?act? or just wait for a revenge of the nature to us?

Maybe people must now "wake up", and take a deep breath and realize what will be the results of our irresponsible doings, we think that it is just a small thing but remember that small things can be big things when combined together. A small piece of candy wrapper that is thrown somewhere else can be a mountain of trash candy wrapper when consecutively thrown anywhere else.

And this is now the situation, so that our Science Teacher Mrs. Rubio told us to make a pledge.

This pledge must not be only written in a piece of paper but must take it in action. A pledge that can make everyone one of us in the room a "STEWARD OF NATURE". We wrote simple ways but powerful actions and solution that can surely contribute big. We all wrote a pledge.

I, ____________, solemnly pledge that as a steward of nature I must perform ways that can make our nature smile again. I will promise that I will practice proper waste disposal. I will practice the 4R's (reduce, reuse, recycle and repair.

Others wrote pledge that has a heart-warming message, others has a sincere message and others wrote  what came in their heart with efforts. We wrote this pledge not for the grades that will be given to us but this pledge is all for MOTHER NATURE.

We sincerely raised our right hands and stood straight when we said our pledge that surely came from our heart.  And I hope that this pledge will be fulfilled for a better future and for a better life of us and for the next generation.

Our duty is to be useful, not according to our desires but according to our powers.

                                                        - Henri-Frederic Amiel

A Flashback in our Biology Class

Biology Class of Mrs. Rubio was fun, it was full of lessons about what we can do as ordinary students in applying simple ways that can contribute big to our own locality, and thanks for that lesson for giving us something that we can write in this blog (sighs) in order for the one who is now reading this to gain some information, fruitful experiences and effective ways.

We, the so-called II-Science Class A tackled about the Philippine Biodiversity, and it was a good topic to learned about. We have a good ride in our own imagination imagining on the richness of the Philippine Biodiversity, it was amazing, and an awesome experience.

Philippine Biodiversity has a large degree of variation of life forms within a given ecosystem and has a high endemism. Philippines is a great place where you can find the "beauty" of god's creation.

But Philippine biodiversity, on the other side is also classified as "biodiversity hotspot" because of its alarming threats from humans. It is a "mega biodiversity country". Mega Biodiversity Country is a country that harbor the majority of the Earth's species and are therefore considered extremely biodiverse.

It is all caused by :

-Human activities or because of us

 Greediness of man

-Overpopulation

Modernization
-Also:
-Lack of Discipline
-Lack of Political Will
-Lack of Understanding
-Lack of Funds

THIS IS ALARMING!

And we can help to PROTECT OUR BIODIVERSITY: How? These are the ways :

1. Report illegal logging activities and illegal sale of wildlife.
2.Write letters to our government officials to help pass and implement laws to protect our biodiversity.
3. Don't buy endangered animal products ( e.g. alligator shoes, snake-skin bags, stuffed Pawikan, coral jewelry)
4. Form a group n your community or barangay advocating the protection of our wildlife and plantlife.

    WE CAN ALL CONTRIBUTE!

Dear Mother Nature

Today is a day that I can feel the breeze of air that hugs my body, it is a good time to have a sleep and take a rest but this is not what I really want, my spirit is whispering in my heart that as a youth, I must be helping, cooperating and participating in every step that can help our "Dearest Mother Nature".
We students or so-called "youth",must take an action because God created us to protect Mother Nature, this is our role, whether we like it or not. So that, I perform some ways of mine that you can also apply to your daily lives!
First, I threw my wastes in the trash can. I also unplugged appliances that are not in use. I turned of lights that are not in need in order to save money, conserve electricity and at the same time helping nature. I've done my homeworks in the afternoon so that I will not consume more electricity.

Cooperation among everyone must take place and be as a team in order to have a greater and faster way of nature's way of healing its wounds.

Throw cans or bottles in the trashcans.

By simply saving energy, we can help Mother Nature and at the same time we can conserve and save money that can be use for other purposes.
This is the time to find solution, Not tomorrow but NOW!!!

A Rainy Week!

Every morning when the sun already rise.....

I open the window and turn off the light so that light can pass through. Another day, another beginning.

I also turned off all the unnecessary appliances and unplug it after using......

Since it is four days consecutive raining, I turned off the electric fan because it is already cold.

And whenever I charge my cellphone, I will make sure that I will unplug it after its battery is full.

Also, I don't let the television on when there is no one watching.......

And that's it I hope that I've helped again Mother Nature!

We, ordinary students without superpowers but have that ability to perform daily practices that can help our dearest Mother Nature must apply it in our daily lives! Not by Words, Apply It In Action!

Our cooperation will contribute big when we work as a team!

The Group That Never Gets Low

School was fun, full of hard lessons that must be learned, and even if that is the case, this week was also a good time to do some actions and solutions to help in protecting and conserving our mother nature by means of our simple activities with our huge presence of mind cooperating and participating to work into it. Our role as a steward of nature will never stop. This group will now proceed to the actions we've done this whole week so get ready!

We have turned off the lights in order to conserve electricity and at the same time protecting nature.

We threw our wastes in the trash can properly and make sure that it will be dispose properly.

We turned off our computers and unplugged it after using.

We, the group one had done our assignments in the afternoon instead in the evening in order to conserve usage of electricity.
We also watered the plants because plants are important in our daily living and in nature.

The Place of Silence

Library , a single word - composed of seven letters, but if we deepen and dig up more about what it is, we will find out that it is not only a place of silence but a place full of treasures, maybe treasures that our bare eyes could not see but treasures that can fill our empty minds.
July 12,2011 we had our first tour in our school library. We learned a lot as I would say so. Maybe our library in school is unlike the others that have hundreds of book, the library of SMNHS only uses DDS, Dewey Decimal System, because of the few numbers of books but the value of the things we learned inside that library is vast. Inside that place we saw simple things we saw other things in our library like the trophies they achieve, and the annual of the past 4th year students. The great thing about the library is the effort of our librarian to make that library as awesome as the other libraries in universities.
Our tour lasted for an hour. And YES! we learned a lot of things inside of our library. Ü
